Zaharah Sulaiman, a medical doctor; currently a senior lecturer at the Women’s Health Development Unit, School of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia and a lactation consultant at the Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital, Kubang Kerian Kelantan. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Adelaide in 1997 and her master in Public Health from the Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2005. Zaharah is a qualified lactation consultant (IBCLC) since 2007 and a member of International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA). In December 2013, she completed her PhD from La Trobe University, Melbourne whereby she explored the impact of women working in urban Malaysia on breastfeeding practices. Zaharah has been appointed as a co-coordinator to WABA ‘s Task Force on Local Governance since 2014. She teaches and conducts workshops to promote and support breastfeeding for health care workers and speaks to the community on breastfeeding education. Zaharah is also an author to a number of journal publications and breastfeeding books published by Dewan Bahasa & Pustaka.
